Stem Cell Therapy for Arthritic Pets

There's new hope for pets with degenerative conditions such as arthritis and hip dysplasia. Australian company MediVet announced same-day stem cell therapy procedure for [animals] to treat degenerative conditions will soon be available.

The procedure takes fat cells from the animal's stomach, the stem cells are separated out, and then MediVet's patented technology "involving light-emitting diodes activiat[es] and reinfus[es] the cells in the animal." The stem cells then repair the damaged cartilage.

MediVet sells their machinery to veterinarians worldwide, and claims it is worth the investment for vet practices because upwards of $300,000K a year can be earned with as little as 5 technician-run procedures a week. For the dog owner, a typical procedure costs $1,700. MediVet claims dogs can begin feeling relief within a couple of hours!

The original story can be found HERE. It's a worthwhile read and interesting to hear how one arthritic dog went from hardly being able to move to bounding up the stairs with the energy of a puppy.

There's new hope for pets with degenerative conditions such as arthritis and hip dysplasia. A hope that does not require extensive surgery or drugs.
