Road Trip: Myrtle Beach

A few weeks ago mom's friend needed a ride to the airport in Myrtle Beach and I got to tag along. This was my first visit to the Grand Strand area, but I had heard good things and I am ALWAYS up for a road trip. We decided to use this excursion as a good excuse to check out Barc Parc, the Myrtle Beach dog park that we had read about online. It ended up being pretty close to the airport so it totally worked out.

The park itself was pretty big (mom says 11 acres, whatever that is) and has a pond in the middle. My favorite part was the loop around that big pond; it gave me and mom a chance to take a walk together around the lake off-leash (and chase squirrels). I did NOT like the turtles in the pond. There were also some fun pups to play with including a little guy named Scrappy who looked and acted just like Scrappy Doo on that TV show! Oh yeah, the park has plenty of benches in nice shady spots to relax. One odd thing, there was a separate fenced area that you would have thought might have been for the little guys, but there were some big guys like me in there just hanging out. Anyway, the park was way fun.

After we left the Barc Parc we stopped by a place called Classic New England Deli and me and mom split a tasty meatball sandwich. All in all a great day, and I'm pretty sure I had a nice nap on the drive home.  So next time you have to go to or through Myrtle Beach see if you can get your people to take a stop at the Barc Parc.

PS: Anyone else going to the Riverdogs Dog Day on June 6th? Me and my sister Sadie already have our tickets.  I love baseball!
