Private, Membership Based Dog Park Opens in Summerville

Sky Dogs Family Dog Park is a new, privately-owned doggy centered recreational area in Summerville, SC. The grand opening was held this past weekend and we're already hearing great things! The four acre dog park with on-leash and off-leash dog play areas boasts a lot of features you won't find anywhere else.

  • Separate play areas for small, big and elderly dogs
  • Onsite dog training and grooming by appointment
  • A pond is in the works; in the meantime enjoy lots of shaded kiddie pools 
  • Agility training equipment
  • Restrooms
  • Self dog washing station
  • Lots of shaded picnic tables and seating areas 
  • Party space rentals
  • Concession stand which sells a variety of snacks and beverages including beer, wine and champagne
  • 25 video games,several pool tables and corn hole boards 
  • Live music Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays

The privately owned park is also able to uphold its own standards of excellence and safety. Here's a few of Sky Dog's Safety Regulations:

  • Sky Dogs employees meet and greet everyone at the front gate where they inspect the dogs behavior before allowing them to enter. Sky Dogs will not allow any dog to enter that is showing signs of aggression towards people or other dogs.
  • All dog park goers must sign the Sky Dogs agreement which holds the owners accountable for thier dogs actions while visiting Sky Dogs. If they choose not to sign the agreement they will not be allowed to enter.
  • Sky Dogs dog park provides safety tips for adults and children in hopes to educate the public on the safe way to approach and pet strange dogs.
  • Sky Dogs dog park provides information on how dogs act at a park while running and playing with other dogs; so the owners know what to expect. Dogs often behave different at the park then while at home.
  • Sky Dogs dog park provides information on dog breeds and their behavior.
  • Sky Dogs dog park requires all dogs to wear visible dog tags and the owner must sign an agreement stating their dog has had all the required shots. If tags are not available then you may bring the paperwork showing the dog has the required vaccinations.

The park is open 365 days a year unless Mother Nature deems it necessary to close.

Hours:

  • Monday-Wednesday: 11am -10pm
  • Thursday-Friday: 11am-12am (midnight)
  • Saturday: 9am-12am (midnight)
  •  Sunday: 9am-9pm

Admission:

$2.00 per person per day. Children under 8 are free.

Membership Options:

  • One person- year membership: $52.00 
  •  Family -year membership: $100.00

Both memberships will increase by $25.00 soon. So don't delay!

Membership Benefits: Members get in free for ALL special events. ie. dog shows, dog competitions, holiday dog costume parties and live entertainment!
