Meet a Lowcountry Dog: Sam

Sam is my almost five year old English Shepherd mix. He has had two knee surgeries and the most memorable/scary moment is when he was fresh out of surgery, escaped from the kitchen and came and jumped on my bed, he did not do any damage, thankfully.

Sam loves the beach but is not able to go long distances as he has hip issues and will need another surgery one day (sigh). We go there and take a walk at his pace and he greets the passersby and thieir dogs. He loves his squeaky toys and sits on the back of the couch and squeaks them in my ear. He enjoys visits from friends and their dogs and has to be in the middle of all activities.

Sam is always upbeat, despite the surgeries and vet visits, he loves life and he plays just like a puppy. He does not listen all the time, I know I have spoilt him, but he has not got a mean or ornery bone in his body. He makes my life brighter and fuller, I am always glad to come home because I know he will be there to greet me exuberantly.
