Meet a Lowcountry Dog: Cosmo

Cosmo Kramer Crews is a 3 year old Boykin Spaniel. My most memorable moment with Cosmo was THE PUPPY PLUNGE at the YMCA in Beaufort. They opened the outside pool for the dogs and let them jump, splash, and play. I noticed that he was struggling so i grabbed his life jacket so he could jump in the deep end and hang out and float around..but then he knew all he had to do was look at me and float by wall of the pool and I would yank him out like a briefcase and it was back to running and jumping in the deep end to do it again!

I remember when my family got Cosmo. I call my mom our dogs Savior..and she really is. There was a Boykin rescue who was coming out to check out our house to see if it was suitable for a Boykin. Mom was very nervous and cleaning like a maniac. It's really like adopting a kid! Sure enough we got him. I took one look at him and noticed his wavy ears and bubbly personality. I love throwing the ball for Cosmo and Roscoe (our yellow lab). Cosmo hauls it when the ball is thrown. He knows he'll never get it but he really does try... so from time to time I'll fake out Roscoe so Cosmo can have his glory!

You know there is just something about having a Boykin. You always have a hunting, swimming, playing, lounging buddy. From day one Cosmo has been part of the family. He is a great addition to the puppy pile!
