There's nothing like the unconditional love of a golden retriever. Grateful Golden Retriever Rescue is featured on this week's Adoptable Dog Friday. To see more dog's available from this rescue, check out their previous post here. To find out more about GGRLC's adoption process or how you can foster a golden click here.
1. Reeves
- Reeves, a 3-4 yr old red boy, was found at a rural manufacturing plant that was shut down for maintenance. The people who found him held him for several weeks because they couldn't imagine someone wouldn't be looking for this beautiful boy. When no one claimed him, GGRLC was called. He has obviously been someone's pet in the past -- he has good house manners, loves to chase tennis balls and gnaw on chew bones, and walks very well on the leash. He is very playful with his foster siblings, but is calm overall. His favorite spot is next to you being petted. He has been vetted, but unfortunately he is heartworm positive & will be starting his treatment shortly.
2. Moultrie
- Moultrie is a very sweet 2-3 year old boy who found himself at Animal Control before finding his way into rescue. He is doing great with his golden siblings and cat friends. He hasn't met anyone he doesn't like including children. He is UTD on vaccinations, neutered and heartworm negative. Moultrie is having some hip discomfort and will be scheduled for surgery in the next couple weeks.
3. Grizzly
- Grizzly is an EXTREMELY sweet almost 2 year old red boy. He found himself at the local shelter when his people could no longer care for him. Grizzly is UTD on his vaccinations, neutered & micro-chipped. He has excellent house manners per his foster. He is heartworm positive and will begin his heartworm treatment soon.
4. New Puppies!
- Say hello to 6 babies GGRLC just bailed out of the shelter. Thankfully the shelter called us as soon as they came in and we pulled all of them just as fast as we could get there. There are 3 healthy boys and 3 healthy girls who have had their first round of shots and in the process of getting all vetted. Update: The pups are thriving and enjoying life. They are approximately 10 weeks old now and they have their bags packed for their journey to their forever homes!!
5. MacGruber
- MacGruber is a sweet 1.5 year old mix. He is very friendly and seems to love everybody. He is currently enjoying playday everyday and gets along great with other dogs. He has everyone guessing whether or not he likes cats. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations and we will have him heartworm checked this week.
6. Sophie
- Sophie is a sweet, mature female of 8 to 10 years young. She is a low maintenance girl who loves cuddling with her people and playing with a ball. She is looking for a relaxed home environment where her people will shower me with love and she promises they will get lots of love in return. If you think your home is the perfect one for Sophie, please contact GGRLC.
7. Gracie
- Gracie is a sweet just turned 7 year old who was surrendered by her family due to a child with allergies. She is UTD, spay, heartworm negative and ready for a family. Gracie is good with children and other dogs. She loves tennis balls and can carry as many as three in her mouth. She also seems to get along with cats. Gracie has some thunderstorm anxiety, but has not shown destructive behavior. Looks for a spot behind a chair where she feels more comfortable. She will make a wonderful addition to a family.
8. Hannah
- Hannah is a wonderful 10 year old girl looking for a home. She was turned in by her very sad owner due to health issues. Hannah is up to date on shots and healthy. Hannah has been fully vetted now and has her bags packed and is waiting patiently on her furever family!
9. Missy
- Missy is a classic fireside Golden girl who, for some reason, ended up in a shelter. She is 10 years young and looking for a nice home where she can enjoy her retirement and live a glorious golden life of leisure. Missy will provide excellent companionship and much Goldie love in return. She is taking applications for a forever home and would love for you to send yours in for consideration. Missy tested positive for heartworms so she will begin her heartworm treatment after she recovers from her spay.
10. Sunshine
- Sunshine is a beautiful blonde girl that was found as a stray and, when no one came for her, the caring people at Animal Control called GGRLC. Her coat was so full of tight mats that she had to be shaved down to remove them all. Now stylishly attired in a Grateful Goldens t-shirt to protect her tender skin from the sun, her tail never stops wagging and she never tires of attention. She is estimated to be about 4 years old, has great house manners and loves playing with the other dogs in her foster home. Unfortunately, she is heartworm positive & will be starting her treatment soon.
11. Owen
- Owen was found roaming the countryside with a toy in his mouth. When no one came to claim him, GGRLC was contacted. When he went for his initial vetting, we found a huge tumor on his lower stomach. He has had the tumor removed and received a clean pathology report. Unfortunately, he is heartworm positive, and will start his treatment once he recovers from his surgery. This sweet boy is about 6-8 yr old and is very laid-back but also enjoys playing with other dogs. He is enjoying having people to love and all the toys he can carry!
12. Sally
- Sally is just under 3 year old and an absolute sweetie. She appears to be a golden/otterhound mix although the vet thought perhaps some Sharpei. She is update to date on vaccinations, spayed. She has wonderful house manners and gets along well with other dogs and cats. Her foster family say that she is a real jewel and would make perfect addition to any family. Sally has completed her heartworm treatment and is ready for he furever home!!
13. Brett
- Brett is a 5 to 6 year old girl and is very sweet. Her family tried everything to keep her, but finally realized they were no longer able to care for her. She has settled into her new foster home and gets along well with her new foster brother and sister and any other dogs she meets. She did test positive for heartworms & will start her heartworm treatment soon. Other than needing to add a few pounds and get some good nutrition to make her coat shine, she is a healthy girl. She will be spayed soon and once she recovers, she will begin her heartworm treatment.
