FRWSPCA Foster Dogs Event
On Saturday, December 10, the foster dogs will be returning to the Frances R Willis shelter - but they are not staying. They will be in residence from 11 - 3.
Foster dogs are shelter dogs who live in homes. They are pre-loved in our homes before they go to your home. We know these dogs like we know our own dogs because we have made them a part of our family. Sometimes they surprise us but for the most part we know whether they are good with children, good with other dogs, and good with cats. Many of our foster dogs live with children, cats, and other dogs.
The shelter dogs are housetrained and at some point in their lives they have been crate trained. We know whether they can be trusted in the house alone, we know whether they need a fence or not, we know whether they are high energy or couch potatoes, we know if they are friendly to strangers or not. We know these dogs because we live with these dogs. We make them as healthy and as happy as we possibly can. They are all spayed/neutered, up-to-date on their shots, and microchipped.
After an application and a home visit, if you are still not sure whether our foster dog will be a good fit for your household, we allow them to go for sleep-overs before any adoption fee is exchanged. If it does not work out, these dogs go back to their foster homes. You do not have the heartache of returning a dog to the shelter.

Volunteers will also be showcasing dogs and cats that reside at the shelter.
If you are not in the market for a dog yourself, tell your friends and we would still like to see you at the event. You might consider being a foster parent yourself for one of the wonderful shelter dogs (or cats). The foster parent program is committed to taking the dogs (and cats) out of the shelter and into a home environment so that they may be more adoptable.
