Foster Fridays: Ella Mae
Hi I'm Ella Mae (kinda like Elly May from the Beverly Hillbilly's) and I'm a Lab! I've been with my foster home for 1 month and I'm having a lot of fun! We are working on housetraining and I know to do to the door when I have to go. I'm not crate trained though, I'm spoiled and sleep by my foster mom and a nice doggie bed and I have a room to myself when she has to go out.
I went to the beach for the first time this week and had a blast! Not only did I make new friends with the other beach dogs, I loved the waves and the water. I picked up a bunch of sea shells and wanted my foster family to chase me. What fun! But right now I HATE the leash and need lots of training for that. I do love treats when I goes outside though.
I also know how to sit and if you make noises at me or play music I will "sing" to you. I'm great with other dogs and children and I love to torment Chloe, the Siamese cat, who my foster family adopted from Francis R. Willis SPCA last year. I am crazy and wild but still very sweet and will make you very happy. I would do very well in a forever home with kids where I can run and play in a big fenced in yard. I love to be close to you and you make catch me snoring now and then. Won't you like to be my forever family?
My foster mom has been fostering animals for 20 years; right now from the Charleston Animal Society and in the past for the Francis R. Willis SPCA. She has had many many dogs and one momma cat with a litter of 4 kittens. She always wanted to be a veternarian growing up and was always rescuing hurt ducks, birds and field mice. Her parents already had a dog and she did too even after getting married. Rather than trying keep them all, fostering them and getting them to a great family and home has a always been her goal.

Hi I am Ella's foster mom. She is back with me until at least Monday. Marisa and I couldnt leave her recovering from her spay surgery without us! The staff at Chas Animal Society was wonderful in calming our emotions and allowed us to take her home until Monday. She is available for adoption though so you can still contact the Charleston Animal Society for info. We will be bringing her out tomorrow morning for the Super Bowl Subaru Puppy gig tomorrow at the shelter.
And she is doing wonderful! We took her to Seacoast Church last night for the Thorn try outs and everyone fell in love with her. She is back to her self chasing Chloe (have to watch her surgery area) and giving Marisa kisses to get up for school.
