Foster Fridays: Beau

Meet Beau! He is a beautiful XL chocolate lab boy who is about 4-5 years old. Beau is housebroken and does not need to be crated. He has wonderful manners in the house (won’t jump on furniture and absolutely no chewing) and is he very gentle. He knows how to sit and will shake if you have a treat to offer him! He is not very loud – we’ve only heard him bark once or twice and it was because he was excited about playing fetch, although he does make some really cute noises when we are petting him or scratching his ears. Like a typical lab, he loves chasing tennis balls. He never gets tired of retrieving and he brings the ball right back and drops it at your feet or right into your hand. He also likes going for car rides and playing in the water. Beau is pretty good on a leash and likes to go for walks. Although he sounds like a very active guy, Beau is very calm in the house. He likes to make sure he is in the same room as his human family, but after he gets a little love, he will just settle calmly on the floor nearby and nap.

He is great with all other dogs (big and small, male or female), doesn’t mind cats and loves children. He has been around children ranging in ages from 1-7 and he was great with each and every one of them. He is a very “social” guy and enjoys meeting new people and other dogs. The best way to describe his great personality is that Beau is just a big, gentle sweetheart. Beau would be an excellent companion for just about anyone. His moderate activity level, gentle demeanor, and sweet personality make him well suited for almost any home and lifestyle.

Beau has been fostering at our home, in Columbia, for about a month. Beau is our 3rd foster dog for Lowcountry Lab Rescue. In addition to a wonderful forever home, Beau is also looking for a foster home closer to the Charleston area.
