Doggie Day at the Rec

All dogs and puppies are invited to the 6th Annual Doggie Day at the Isle of Palms Recreation Department on Saturday, February 25, 2012. The event offers the opportunity to get your annual rabies vaccination from 9:00am -11:00am in the Bark Park located on 29th Avenue as well as a chance for residents to purchase their City required dog licenses for $5.00. Proof of rabies vaccination is required to get City licenses.

This year’s Dog Show completion is open to all dogs and will begin at 10:00am and will feature the following categories: Cutest Puppy (1yr and under), Most Attractive (1 yr and over), Mystery Mutt (small breed under 40lbs and large breed over 40 lbs), Most Creative Name, Most Ear’Resistible Ears, Best Eyes, Best Smile, Best Dressed, Best Female and Male Rescue, Mystery Mutt and Most Unusual Breed. Winners in each of the 10 categories will compete for Best in Show.

Local rescue groups will be at this event with rescued dogs and will provide information concerning fostering and adopting.

The Recreation Center is located at #24 28th Avenue on the Isle of Palms. Those that wish to participate must pre-register by Friday, February 24th. Only 15 dogs will be accepted in each category so registration may not be available on event day.

This is a FREE event. Prizes are given to all winners and free giveaways to those attending during the show.
