In your opinion, which area dog park is the best?

We like the James Island dog park the best. It has plenty of open space to run, potable water available inside the gates, and a nice clean beach for the dogs to swim from.

Tell me more about the "beach" at James Island park

I would have to agree with Kathryn here. Although Wanamaker is decent and the Long Point dog park is nice if the agility course is set up, nothing comes close to James Island.

I like the Sycamore Ave park and Grove Ave park. It's small enough so owners can keep an eye on what their dogs are doing and pick up after them, and big enough for the dogs to run and sniff in.

Kristin,

Never heard of those parks. How did you find out about them?

well, Sycamore I drove by, as it's on my way to my post office in West Ashley. :-)

Grove Ave at Rutledge was also a drive-by since I work nearby.

I think Grove Ave shows up on the iPhone App "OffLeash" as "Hampton Park Off-leash", and Sycamore is not on there yet (even though I told them about it).

mmm, I was reminded by a Dolittle's post that the Sycamore Ave park is called Ackerman Park.

Kristin,

Awesome. It is always fun to find new places while you are just driving around. I will have to check those two parks out with my little pup.

Thanks for the great tip and let me know if you come across any others.
